Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi

On arrival in Hanoi, pick up and transfer to the hotel. Free time at leisure.​

Day 2: Hanoi – Halong Bay

Enjoy a scenic drive through beautiful rice fields of Red River Delta. On arrival in Ha Long, embark to the junk for your overnight stay on Ha Long Bay. Admire the fascinating rock formations of the bay, visit caves and cruise to island for swimming, kayaking or relaxing on the beach. Stay overnight on the junk with full board seafood meals served.​

Day 3: Halong - Hanoi

Experience the exquisite beauty of Ha Long Bay at sunrise. Visit Vung Vieng fishing village, meet the locals and pass through the floating school and fish farms before disembarking.

On the way back to Hanoi, discover Tho Ha Village, famous for terracotta products. You can see old houses made from remained broken part of terracotta. Visit a house of a typical family in the village and then, enjoy folk music performed by the locals. If you like unique discoveries, go in the 500-year pagoda, the most beautiful one in the Red River Delta.

Conclude your day with a walk to the dike for the amazing view of the village over the lake and have a relaxing chat with villagers.

Day 4: Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City

Start your journey to the highlights and hidden gems of Hanoi at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, an imposing structure that houses the remains of the revered former president who led Vietnam’s campaign for independent from colonial rule. Next, head onward to the Temple of Literature, an ancient collection of courtyards, gardens and architecture built in homage to the Chinese scholar Confucius. Considered the oldest university in Vietnam, the Temple of Literature dates back nearly one thousand years.

In the afternoon, take a 2-hour flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to relax or explore on your own.

Day 5: Mekong Delta Tour

A day of discovery lies ahead as you go further to the south to explore the waters of the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival in Ben Tre, you will travel along the quiet country roads in a motorized trishaw to the water edge where you will be welcomed aboard your private sampan, typical of the trading vessels that you will see throughout your day in the delta region.

Leaving the jetty behind, begin your leisurely cruise deep into the quiet creeks and sleepy backwaters, passing fruit markets, paddy fields and traditional houses. During the morning several stops will be made to visit some of the local cottage industries that operate along the river banks, providing a living for the river people – such as a brick kiln, rice noodle production and coconut processing workshop.

After lunch in a local restaurant, take a short walk to visit a neighbor who is locally famous for producing rice liquor. After a sample or two, return to your sampan and cruise back to the dock where your driver will be waiting to take you back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 6: City tour and Cu Chi Tunnels

Spend the morning to visit Cu Chi Tunnels to discover weapons and underground bunkers. The immense networks of tunnels were used by Viet Cong soldiers as hiding spots during combat, as well as serving as communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches and living quarters for numerous North Vietnamese fighters. The tunnel systems were of great importance to the Viet Cong in their resistance to American forces during the Vietnam war. If you wish, you can crawl through the authentic Viet Cong tunnels and try the local cassava which fighters sustained themselves on for years.

Drive back to the city center, visit Presidential Palace, where used to be home and workplace of presidents of the South Vietnam government during the Vietnam war. A short walk away is Notre Dame Cathedral, the most iconic landmark of Saigon. Visiting outside the cathedral since it has been renovating until late 2019. Then head across the square to the Central Post Office. The building was constructed when Vietnam was part of French Indochina in the late 19th century. Conclude your day by shopping along Dong Khoi street.

Day 7: Farewell from Ho Chi Minh City

On your last day, no activities are scheduled until sending off. Your holiday concludes today after breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.

You may require a visa to enter Vietnam. Please check the list of visa excempted nationalities as below:

Passport

Please ensure that you have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining after your return date. You will also need at least one blank page for each of the countries you are visiting.

Travel Insurance

You will require a comprehensive travel insurance that covers you for medical costs associated with hospitalisation, emergency travel and repatriation back to your home country. We offer our customers a specially discounted insurance policy, ideally suited to the needs that a trip such as this creates. Mention it in the enquiry form and we will send you a quote to suit your needs.

Vaccinations and Malaria Prevention

You will undoubtedly require vaccinations for your visit to Asia. Please consult your doctor or a vaccination clinic for the most up-to-date advice. They will also be able to advise you of the most suitable anti-malarial medication if required. It is important that you do this well in advance of your departure date.
