Following the leading Swiss carrier Edelweiss Air, this airlines carrier will launch 2 flights every week from Zurich to Hochiminh City (Saigon, Vietnam) and vice versa, beginning November 15th 2018.
Concretely, the first flight on the new route will take off on November 15th, 2018. 2 flights will come to Hochiminh City from Zurich on Monday and Thursday. 2 flights from Hochiminh City to Zurich are on Tuesday and Friday. Some travel agencies are already receiving bookings at the moment, and plan to sell the tickets online.
The first such air route between Vietnam to Switzerland will shorten travel time, and promote trade and tourism, officials said.
Edelweiss Air estimates that it will carry 10,500 visitors from Switzerland to Ho Chi Minh City every year. It will operate the Airbus A340-300, which has a maximum capacity of 314 passengers.
Swiss tourists are known for taking long vacations and generous spending. According to a report from Vietnam’s General Statistics Office, in the first five months of 2018, Vietnam welcomed 16,500 Swiss tourists, an increase of 4.2 percent over the same period last year.
This is good news for both Blue Sky Travel and travelers from Switzerland. Due to not spending transit time in other airports, the Swiss tourists will have more time to discover Vietnam.
