Yangon - Shwedagon Pagoda

This stopover takes you right in the shining land of pagodas. Yangon, considered as the most impressive city of Myanmar, is truly an intellectual and spiritual hub. The highlight of this visit is the Shwedagon pagoda, the most sacred and impressive Buddhist site, encrusted with 4531 diamonds and covered with hundreds of gold. Day 1: Arrive Yangon

On arrival in Yangon you will be transferred to your hotel.

In the evening, visit the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda and dinner on your own.

Day 2: Yangon

A day of discovery lies ahead as you have a close look at the local life of the old capital. By car and partly on foot, this tour takes you to the Mahabandoola Park to see the colonial courthouse and the city hall. From there, continue with a downtown orientation tour covering the old colonial centre of Yangon. Then, go to see the National Museum and the amazing Chaukhtatgyi Reclining Image. Your day concludes with a visit Bogyoke Aung San market, Chinatown and the fruit market. Once there, you’ll feel that the market is more than just a shopping experience.

Day 3: Yangon departure

Visit Kaba Aye Pagoda (World Peace Pagoda), Maha Pasana Guha Cave (where the sixth Buddhist synod took place in 1952), the Buddhist Art Museum and a traditional jewelry and gemstone workshop to observe the cutting and polishing of precious gemstones. Visit the nearby Naga Hlainggu Kalewa Tawya Monastery where over 1300 monks and novices reside.

Transfer to Yangon Airport for your onward flight.
