Yangon - Bagan - Mandalay - Inle Lake - Heho

Without missing the best experiences of Myanmar, this tour takes you beyond the infamous spots. Not only will you not miss the best sightseeing of Bagan, Yangon and Mandalay but also pay a visit to the 1000 monks of Maha Gandayone monastery in Amapura as well as a full day tour on Inle Lake to admire the unique leg-rowers fishermen. The handicrafts are also so fascinating to discover: from the silver smith factory to the silk weaving village, from the Cheroot making factory to the boat making workshop, the local activities near the Inle Lake are much diversified. Day 1: Arrive Yangon

Arrive in Yangon and transfer to hotel with the afternoon at leisure. In the evening visit the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda before getting to know about the destination with a welcome dinner.

Day 2: Yangon – Bagan by morning flight; Bagan sightseeing

Transfer to the airport for an early morning flight to Bagan.

When you’ll arrive in the land of thousands pagodas, take the time to soak up the atmosphere that will give you a special nostalgic feeling. You will have time to discover the colourful Nyaung Oo Market, Shwezigon Pagoda, Wetkyi-in Gubyaukkyi (a cave temple with exquisite jatakas mural paintings), the elegant Htilominlo Temple (for its plaster carvings) and the Tharaba Gate. Explorations of Bagan continue in the afternoon including visits to Ananda temple (an architectural masterpiece of early-style temple), Ananda Okkyaung (one of the few surviving brick monasteries from the early Bagan period), Thatbyinnyu Temple (the highest temple in Bagan, rising to 61 m) and Dhammayangyi Temple (for its remarkable brickwork). Enjoy watching sunset over the old Bagan at one of the highest temples; We ensure you will have an unforgettable experience.

Day 3: Bagan

Proceed to Myinkaba village and observe the process of creating traditional lacquer ware, one of the best-known Myanmar handicrafts and a specialty of Bagan. Visit Myinkaba Gubyaukkyi (an early period Pyu-style temple of Hindu influence). Next stop at the Manuha and Nanpaya temples. In the afternoon, enjoy an excursion to the countryside village of Minnanthu. Visit to some of the interesting temples if time permits, such as Payathonzu, Lemyethnar, Sinbyushin, Nandaminnya and Minnanthu monastery.

Day 4: Bagan – Mandalay by morning flight; Mandalay – Amarapura – U Bein – Mandalay

Say farewell to Bagan this morning and transfer to the airport for a flight to Mandalay. First up visit the Maha Gandayone monastery (home to more than 1000 monks) in Amarapura then you will continue on to Mahamuni Pagoda (famous for its venerable statue of Buddha covered with gold leaf). Afternoon sightseeing includes the Shwenandaw Monastery (for its exquisite woodcarving) and the Kuthodaw Pagoda with its 729 marble stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures (known as the world’s biggest book). Enjoy the sunset by the U Bein Bridge (the world’s longest Teakwood Bridge -1208 meters long) or on the Mandalay Hill with a panoramic view of the city.

Day 5: Mandalay – Heho by morning flight; Heho – Inle Lake by car and by boat

The fascinating Inle Lake is in your sights today after your flight from Mandalay to Heho. On arrival, enjoy a scenic drive to Nyaung Shwe jetty and get your camera ready for the spectacular and breathtaking landscapes along the way. Take a full day tour of Inle Lake by private boat with chances to see villages, the unique leg-rowers fishermen and the floating gardens, built up from the strips of water hyacinth and mud and anchored with bamboo poles. The tour also includes visits to the silver smith factory, the silk weaving village, the Cheroot making factory, the boat making workshop, the jumping cat monastery and the most famous Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda where the Buddha images have been covered in so much gold that they look like balls of solid gold.

Day 6: Inle Lake – Heho by boat and by car; Heho – Yangon by morning flight; Yangon sightseeing

In the morning transfer to Nyaung Shwe jetty by private boat and enjoy a scenic drive to Heho Airport for the flight to Yangon.

Get to know Yangon with an orientation tour and some free time to explore the city. You may be like to visit to Chinatown or Bogyok Aung San Market, the city’s busiest and most lively bazaar. Once there, you’ll feel that the market is more than just a shopping experience.
