Yangon - Twante Pottery Village

The delta region outside Yangon is the town of Twante where the "Oh-Bo pottery" is located. The boat trip provides a view of life along the canal while Twante itself provides interest as a centre of pottery and hand-woven cotton cloth. The pottery town of Twante is famous for the 21-mile-long canal that runs between the Ayeyarwady Delta and the Yangon River. Twante can be reached by land or river from Yangon. It is only 15 miles away from Yangon. The streets of Twante are littered with so many beautiful pots of different sizes & shapes.

Day 1: Arrival in Yangon

Meet with your guide upon arrival in Yangon and being transferred to the hotel. Enjoy your leisure time in the rest of the day.

Day 2: Yangon

Start to visit the Sule Pagoda, a Burmese stupa, located in the heart of downtown Yangon, occupying the center of the city and an important space in contemporary Burmese politics, ideology and geography. Continue to National Museum, the home to priceless ancient artifacts. Visit the Bogyoke Market, known for its colonial architecture and inner cobblestone streets,  it is dominated by antique, Burmese handicrafts. Head to Indian quarter, the vibrant and fun zone, is filled with colors and spices.

Day 3: Excursion to Twante pottery village

Travel by local ferry this morning to Twante in the Ayeyarwady River delta. Hop on a trishaw and take a ride to the local pottery workshop to see the craftsmanship for which the area is noted. Return to Yangon via Dala, located across the river from the capital. From the dockside in Yangon, take a guided walk along scenic Pansodan Street which is lined with colonial style buildings from the British period.

Day 4: Departure from Yangon

Your holiday concludes this morning after breakfast. You will be transferred to Yangon Airport for your onward flight.​
